You will see the symbolic place where the 1st Republic was proclaimed after the abolition of the monarchy.

Following this, you will continue your tour passing the City Hall (where Robespierre was shot in the jaw and arrested), the Saint Jacques Tower (vestige of the revolution), the Temple Quarter (where the royal family was kept in jail), and the Marrais with the famous Place des Vosges. At the conclusion of the tour, your guide will bring you to the oldest coffee house in Paris, the famous Café Procope opened in 1686 where you will have the opportunity to enjoy a cup of coffee, seated in the middle of old paintings and furnitures like Voltaire’s table or Napoleon’s hat which recreate the atmosphere of the time. During the Revolution, the Phrygian cap, soon to be the symbol of Liberty, was first displayed at the Procope. With your guide you will relive the movement of the lights and learn about the history of this emblematic place. It is here that such famous and influential men such as Voltaire, Benjamin Franklin, Rousseau and Diderot would gather to debate and exchange philosophies.
